The imposing celestial figure appears in the center with large open wings and a small cross on its forehead, framed by a brilliant circular halo from which intense beams of light emanate that fill the background. With a firm posture and dynamically flowing robes, the archangel holds an oval shield in his left arm while thrusting a long spear into the monstrous creature subjugated at his feet. The fallen adversary is represented with a hybrid anatomy, displaying membranous wings, claws, pointed ears and a long serpentine tail that twists to the left, all detailed through cross hatching that gives academic volume and a vigorous contrast of light and shadow to the sacred scene.
